Q: What do we learn about Salva's life and culture from the first chapter? Is it anything like your own?
A1: we learn that he lives in south Sudan in the dinka tribe. that he has three brothers Arilk, Ring and Kvol. that he two sisters Akit and Agnath. that it is 1985. he is 11 years old. he has to learn Arabic. south Sudan is at war with north Sudan for rights.

where is my family?
when will I see them again?

Q: describe Nya's journey everyday?how would I feel?
A1: she walks to the river every morning to get the brown murky water

Q: how do the tribes tell theirs apart? how do we tell yourself part from other schools?

I have a thing called the b-ball touch. where when I shot the ball it will always go
in the hoop. I can shoot it the ball from the other end of the court, backwards, blindfolded and it will still go in. one time I was blindfolded with one hand tied behind my back and still got every shot in. then my friend tried and mist every shot. So then I went to try out for the tall blacks and there couch said that I am the youngest NBA player at 11. Then we won the next 9 playoffs. The end |
