The Fox slowly creeped up to the small animal formerly known as a Quokka. The Quokka did not notice at first, but as the Fox grow closer the Quokka slowly began to realize that there was a fox was near. And when the Fox sprang from his hiding spot the Quokka screamed, jumped then ran in a second the Quokka was gone and the Fox had already spot his new meal or victim if you won’t. And then the story ended and the Quokka was safe and the Fox’s stomach full. The end.

My Essay

This week we had to write an essay about a book we have been reading for the past 5 weeks called, A long walk to water. This is my essay.

In the novel a long walk to water, written by Linda Sue Park. The story is about a boy named Salva that walks all across Africa, and a young girl named Nya that walks from her village to a watering hole and back twice a day, in south Sudan. The character that caught my attention was Uncle Jewiir with his survival and leadership skills, and how he always share all the food and water that he killed and found with the group that they walked with to the refugee camp in Ethiopia.
Uncle Jewiir is brave for just have coming out of the army to fight for his country (South Sudan). When he first joined the group it took him and Salva four days to fined each other. Salva's friend Marial was killed by a lion. Salva was scared to sleep after Marial was killed by that lion, thinking it was going to happen him as will. So Uncle Jewiir told Salva that he would stay up all night and keep watch. Uncle Jewiir is one of the bravest people in the story by far.
When Uncle Jewiir was in the army who knows what he would have seen. He could of seen his best friend shot or been the only in his team to survive an explosion, you don't know. But he came out feeling good, or at less that's what it sounded like. He could have be in total mental distress that could be eating him up inside. But I'm pretty shore the he was alright because he probably would have had a mental brake down.
Uncle Jewiir is kind, thoughtful and smart. Like when the group was in the desert and Salva had stubbed his toe and stop and stared to cry. But the group kept going on, But Uncle Jewiir saw that Salva was behind them so he went over there and Uncle Jewiir said "see those rocks just walk to there and will stop". When they got there Uncle Jewiir said "see those bushes just walk to there and will stop". When Uncle Jewiir joined the group everyone saw him as a leader. So that's were he went, to leader. He had lead them all to the refugee camp in Ethiopia.
In conclusion, Uncle Jewiir was a brave, thoughtful, and smart character in the story. I learnt from him to if I'm ever in that kind of situation that you should share all the food and water you find and to always pick up the slow people that are lagging behind the group.

Rugby VS football

Rugby is a better sport than football. There is more physical contact.
You can run straight at people and they are tougher than football players they can handle it but football fake ignores because there weak but a Rugby is strong and if they have an ignore they really have an ignore. Rugby has better rules that are easier to understand.

Rugby is better in every way. The scoring is way better, in football you shot one goal you get one point. In Rugby you get one try you get three points and if you get the conversion kick you get two points on to of the three and that is a hole five points. football is trash, it is the worst sport ever.

Nya spends a lot of time observing “The Boss.”
What does she observe about him and why do you think
this works as a leadership style within the village?

A: because he showed initiative

When Salva begins his journey to Kenya, he meets up
with other boys, eventually become their de facto leader.
Compare and contrast his leadership style to that of
“The Boss.”

A: they have a lot in common
Why do you think that Michael helped Salva? Why is it important to Salva that he learn as much as he can from Michael?

A: Michael would have help Salva learn English because it is the right thing to do. it is important that he learn as much as he can before Michael leaves

Who are “The Lost Boys?” How would you feel about going to a new country and family, if you were given the chance?

A: the "lost boys" are the boys that were chosen to go to a new country

paragraphs

this week we have been working on paragraphs and what a paragraph is all about.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pavlova is a great dessert to eat. You can put kiwi fruit, strawberries, bananas or even mango on it. Pavlova is better with whipped cream and fruit, anything is better with whipped cream and fruit. I love Pavlova after I eat dinner or just for a treat.

If you don’t like Pavlova  then there is something wrong with you. Pavlova is hard on the outside and sweet on the inside. It is like roasted marshmallow tough outside but a sweet inside. Pavlova is truly the best dessert and if you don’t like Pavlova then your lost not mine.

So in conclusion if you have never had Pavlova before then you truly are missing out on something great and delicious.

Q: Salva has a half a gourd of water and wants to share it with the others, but Uncle says no.  He later asks if he were older and stronger, would he share? What do you think he would do?

A: no I don't think that Salva would because he would know that he will need it

Q: Why do you think that Uncle wants to go back and fight in the War and leave Salva on his own?

A: to fight against North Sudan with the rebels to fight for south Sudan's rights

Q:Why does the group’s attitude towards Salva change?  What do you think Salva will do to change their minds?

A:I think that their attitude changed because they were scared of uncles gun.

Q:What event within the camp makes Salva realise that his family is gone and what memory helps him to survive in the camp?

A:when he think he sees his mum alive but then realises what uncle really meant.

blindfolded and it will still go in. one time I was blindfolded with one hand tied
behind my back and still got every shot in. then my friend tried and mist every
shot. So then I went to try out for the tall blacks and there couch said that I am

The Rocket Challenge

Over Term Two, we have been learning about rockets  and aerodynamics . Yesterday we launched our rocket and my group Apollo 69's parachute was the only parachute to deploy. Something I have learnt over the last seven weeks is how to make and launch an effective water bottle rocket. Even though our parachute deployed, our rocket did not go as far as we wanted it to. For our final launch, we are modifying our rocket to have smaller fins that are lower down on our rocket.

You don’t want to read this

It was 3:00 pm in the year 31,000 when Will hopped into his boat and started to
paddle into the middle of the harbour. He was paddling for half and hour.
By the time he had reached the middle it was 3:30 pm.

Will started to fish and he court 10 fish and then got his biggest and last catch for the
rest of his life. He was pulling and pulling and trying to hold on to his rod and the his
catch started to pull harder then Will. and then…
Will went tumbling into the water. And then the shark pulled him to the bottom of the
sea and he drowned.

the dead forest

I ran and ran I didn’t stop to look back. If I did they would have got it and then
That would mean the end of the world as we know it. The crows squawking and
flying over top of me. Then further I got away the louder they squawked. Then
they started to dive in one at a time but the I held it up over my head and then
They stop so they didn’t hit the thing that will be the end of the world.

I finally escaped and got out of there reach. They can’t go beyond the edge of
the forest. Well what use to be a forest anyway. When they moved into the
forest all the trees died.

The Woodcarver

Sadly, the baby's limbs have fallen off of his body. He has wooden limbs now that his really limbs have fallen off his body. The little boy has to have someone walk him around and all the kids at his school think his cool and brave.

Now, the little boy is a man and he can walk by himself. But he still always has to have someone with him just in case he falls over and can’t get up. It has happened before but there was someone with him when he had fallen over.
The end.

My poem was number 17 and my object was a Chinese coin or a good luck coin. We coloured in the  backs  and put them in order. We had to create an anagram. My anagram for good luck coin was cloud cooking. To come up with the words for my poem, I came up with word to describe my object and then I had to write them down on paper.
